It seems veteran BJD leader, Damodar Rout is still bitter about losing his ministerial berth for making allegedly derogatory remarks about Brahmins. That the issue continues to rankle him was evident when he made a pointed reference to it at Kudiari near Jatni last Monday. Addressing a meeting the 76-year-old MLA from Paradip said he had all respect for Brahmins but was dropped from the ministry for making certain remarks about the community which were misunderstood. He also blamed the media for playing up the issue following which the chief minister, who is extremely sensitive in such matters, decided to axe him.PP-April1-15-2018
