On the occasion of Pahili Rajo, the OTDC showcased the delicacies associated with the festival at Pantha Nivas. Almost all varieties of ‘peethas’ (special sweets) prepared on the occasion and the famous Raja pan, were on display. But everything came for a price. An eyewitness said a kg of poda peetha cost Rs.300 but half a kg cost Rs.170 which many found to be strange. The explanation offered was that the packet contained around 700 gms but someone who bought it found the packet weighting exactly 500 gms when he went home. He called it broad daylight robbery.
