With India’s economy growing by leaps and bounds under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership world leaders have begun to treat New Delhi with heightened respect. Modi today commands the respect of world leaders, many of whom seek his guidance.
From campaigning in Bihar to handling international affairs with aplomb Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wowed the people with his leadership skills. He is widely hailed not only as one of the most charismatic leaders of India but also one of the wisest. The combination of charisma and wisdom is rare and only great leaders are blessed with these qualities occurring together.
In power for more than 11 years now he has successfully changed the political culture of India. The government led by him is not only more responsible and responsive but also more performance-oriented. He is also the boldest leader India has seen since becoming independent in 1947.
In the past, politics in the country was often driven by appeasement strategies which prevented governments from taking bold decisions. But Modi has never been afraid of taking bold decisions even at the risk of being criticized by rivals.
Modi has always made it clear that for him country comes first. He also believes in a people-led government and has set a new standard of transparency. This is how he has laid the foundation of Viksit Bharat. Right from the beginning he has been working on the core principles of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.
Assiduously promoting women-led development the Prime Minister has repeatedly urged people to make the slogan of ‘Beta Beti, Ek Samaan (both son and daughter are alike)’ their motto. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was launched by the Prime Minister on 22nd January, 2015 at Panipat, Haryana.
The BBBP addresses the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of women empowerment over a life-cycle continuum. It is a tri-ministerial effort. The Prime Minister has also been laying special emphasis on JAM or Just Achieving Maximum which serves as the bedrock of many of the initiatives launched by him.
Maximum empowerment of the poor has been one of the primary goals of Prime Minister Modi. He has often lamented the fact that a large part of India’s population has no access to banking services even after several decades of independence. This means that they neither have any avenues for savings, nor any opportunity to avail institutional credit. To overcome this problem Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, a scheme which has radically transformed lives.
But his boldest decision till date has been scrapping of article 370 which had become a political tool in the hands of pro-Pakistan elements in Jammu &Kashmir.
Among his most talked about initiatives has been ‘Make in India’ aimed at making India self-reliant. When Modi started the Make in India movement his critics dismissed it as a political stunt calibrated to boost the image of the Prime Minister. Today, the scheme has turned into India’s self-reliance mantra, providing a tremendous boost to industries and generating new job opportunities for the youth.
Rural India has always remained close to the Prime Minister’s heart who has been doing everything possible to provide basic necessities to the people living in villages. Under his leadership India has set itself an ambitious target of providing electricity to 18,000 villages which are still in darkness after almost 7 decades of independence. Rural Electrification is taking place at a rapid pace, and is being done in an unbelievably transparent manner. Development, in fact, is taking place on all fronts.
Equally important are Modi’s initiatives on the foreign policy front. As a strong leader he has ensured that India deals with other countries of the world, irrespective of their economic and military might, on equal terms. With India’s economy growing by leaps and bounds under Modi’s leadership world leaders have begun to treat New Delhi with heightened respect. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today commands the respect of world leaders, many of whom seek his guidance.
Time was when China used to threaten India with its military might and the US had a Big Brother attitude towards it. But all that has changed under Modi who has shown the world that India is not only self-reliant but also capable of dealing with anyone on its own terms.
