In bypoll-bound Bijepur it seems to be BJD young gun and minister of state for labour, Sushant Singh versus the BJP. The saffron party, whose candidate, Ashok Panigrahy, a BJD turncoat boasted about winning with a huge margin soon after filing nomination, has been targeting the minister relentlessly. Singh, the livewire MLA from Bhatli, was first sought to be cornered by the BJP on the issue of farmer suicide and then for running BJD’s poll campaign in the constituency on behalf of the chief minister. But in sharp contrast to BJP leaders’ ranting and raving Singh has maintained his dignity and continues to work silently. That is what makes him a favourite of the chief minister.
