Congress’s internal feud is set to worsen in the wake of party’s poor showing in the panchayat polls. Indications are already there with senior leaders like former minister, Niranjan Patnaik targeting both state and central leaders without taking names. Patnaik’s view has found an echo in other camps of the party as well with stalwarts like former chief minister, Hemanand Biswal indirectly hinting at lack of unity in the state unity. Sources said the going was likely to get tough for Pradesh Congress Committee president, Prasad Harichandan whose relations with most of the party MLAs have been less than cordial. “He has a lot of explaining to do as the party failed to put up a good show even in his home district of Puri,” said a Congress leader.
