State Congress president, Prasad Harichandan has an able ally in his father-in-law and former minister, Suresh Kumar Routray. Keen to see his son-in-law survive in the choppy waters of Congress politics, he has been extending Prasad his unstinted support, so much so that he is even seen raising “zindabad “ slogans for him during party campaigns. A big bluff man Routray, whose plain speak is liked by most partymen, has friends in all the camps of the state Congress which is expected to make things easy for Prasad who is still struggling to win the support factional leaders. “His father-in-law may lack his intellectual calibre but his practical and friendly approach towards other leaders can be a big asset for Prasad,” commented a party leader.
